The audio for my bluetooth headphones/speakers is lower quality when I'm in sessions
What’s happening:
When you use the same Bluetooth device for both your microphone and headphones/speakers, your operating system may automatically switch the audio quality from stereo to mono during a session. This can cause music, videos, or calls to sound lower in quality.
How do I fix this? Use different devices for mic and audio output:
Microphone: Select a different device for your microphone that is not your Bluetooth headphones/speakers.
Headphones/Speakers: Continue using your Bluetooth device for audio output to enjoy high-quality stereo sound.
Why and when it happens:
Bluetooth Limitations: Bluetooth has bandwidth constraints that make it challenging to handle high-quality stereo audio and microphone input simultaneously.
Automatic Profile Switching: To accommodate both audio input and output, the system switches to a profile that supports mono audio, affecting sound quality.
Microphone Access: Even when we don't actively use the microphone during the session, just requesting permission or using it for sharing at the beginning can trigger the audio quality change, and it won't change back until you actively change the microphone.
Chat-Only Sessions: This issue won’t occur in chat-only sessions since we do not request access to the microphone at all.
